Phoney retro phones – I dont think so!
pIf, like me, you were looking for something slightly unusual as a gift this year, and wanted to avoid the endless trolleying around Mamp;S, then I might well have saved you a considerable amount of shoe leather./ppWhilst doing a routine online search for a href=http://www.paprikashop.co.uk/itemlist.php/clasrefr/BUD01 target=_blankbuddhas/a, I stumbled upon a site packed with products that called out to me to investigate further. Ethical and clear conscience shopping was one of the first things that caught my eye.!–more– Great! It was refreshing to find a company who actually cared for where their products were being sourced from. I am all for giving the trodden down masses a decent crack of the whip./ppImmediately i hear the sound of an old phone on a mobile, I am trasported back to an old era of black and white. They sound great, but it still brings to mind the word phoney. it conjures up a sense of nostalgia and security. It is ironic that so much interest comes from the generation of people who have been weaned on high tech and digital./ppBut retro has always been popular generations like to pinch or revive the ideas of those that went before. Previous generations and their creative output, are often the source of inspiration for contemporary designers, including fashion and music. a href=http://www.paprikashop.co.uk/itemlist.php/clasrefr/TELE01 target=_blankRetro phones/a are no exception to the rule. For any fashion-conscious home, these stylish items are a must-have accessory./ppOne of my favourites is the Dreyfuss 500 black retro phone. Designed by Henry Dreyfuss, it was introduced in 1949 and became one of the most commonly used telephones in the USA. You can buy it black, white or chrome, and it opporates using a standard plug socket. The one down side is if you like to wander from room to room chatting on the phone – dont, otherwise you could end up with a large hole in the wall!/ppOther retro items that caught my attention were their a href=http://www.paprikashop.co.uk/itemlist.php/clasrefr/HWB target=_blankhot water bottle/a range. In my household they used to be monotonous objects manufactured in two or three colours and dug out of the airing cupboard for a few weeks in cold snap. You need to take a look at these great styles, shapes and colours – they are inspirational. Brilliant fun! There is definitely a range of designs that would suit anyone within my family. The Zebra style with safari pattern is one of my favourites, and is made to with materials for future recycling. What I also like is the fact that it is mid-July and a large chunk of my Christmas shopping conundrum has just been sorted./p
